BONELLA, KATHRYN

about author

Kathryn Bonella has worked internationally as a journalist in television and print since completing a degree in journalism at Melbourne's RMIT University. She moved to London immediately afterwards, and worked for newspapers including the Evening Standard and the Daily Mail, as well as several tv programs.

After several years in London Kathryn returned to Australia to work full-time as a producer for 60 Minutes - covering stories ranging from; teeth - the debate over braces and extractions, (http://sixtyminutes.ninemsn.com.au/article/259072/straight-talk); the Bali bombings, to lighter celebrity interviews - including Robbie Williams, Reese Witherspoon and Princess Mary's wedding in Copenhagen.

But it was the story of Australian beauty school student, Schapelle Corby, - arrested at Bali airport with 4.2kgs of dope in her body board bag and sentenced to 20 years - that spring boarded Kathryn into writing books.
Covering the story for 60 Minutes, she got to know the 27-year-old beauty student and her family and they asked Kathryn to co-write her autobiography, titled NO MORE TOMORROWS. (Australian title; MY STORY)

Kathryn followed up writing another best seller, HOTEL K, - about Bali's most notorious prison, and a third book in what has become her Bali trilogy, SNOWING IN BALI - about Bali's top cocaine dealers, many who first moved to the island to surf but started trafficking to pay for the lifestyle.

These three books are all now international best sellers, published in several languages.
