Ben Davies is a Bangkok-based journalist, photographer and author whose work has appeared in a wide range of distinguished publications and media including the International Herald Tribune, Time Magazine, the London Telegraph, the Guardian, the Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Geo, Euromoney,  Asiamoney, Institutional Investor, the Traveller Magazine, National Geographic Books and the BBC. Since he began his career as a journalist in 1984, he has reported from over 50 countries around the world including assignments in North Korea, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and China. Ben has interviewed five current or former Prime Ministers as well as Finance Ministers, diplomats, conservationists and key decision makers. He has written and photographed books on Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Laos as well as contributing to books on Great Voyages of the World, Great Highways of the World and Train Journeys of the World. He is author of Black Market – Inside the Endangered Species Trade in Asia, which documents the multi-billion dollar illegal trade in rare wild animals.
